Manage your email theme

Emails holds hold an important place in ecommercee-commerce: an efficient communication, a relevant information, all that help keeping to keep in touch with your customers. Following this idea, a new page appeared in 1.7.6 in order to allow a better management of your email themes. Your "Design" menu now has a new entry with the "Email Theme" page! You are now able to handle all themes at the same place.

New in 1.7.6! Before , emails were retrieved from your server, they are now generated from this new page, or automatically when installing your store and/or a localization pack.

Configuration

This page is divided into three parts. The first parameters to indicate is the email theme you want to have by default. Natively, there are two templates available: "Classic" and "Modern" (available since version 1.7.6 only). It means that , depending on the template you select, your next emails will look different.

Generate emails

Creating your emails is as easy as pie... just follow these few steps! Pick the email template you want, as well as its language.

Dans le cas où vous auriez besoin de remplacer les e-mails de votre thème actuel, choisissez d'abord le thème à écraser puis activez l'option suivante ("Ecraser les templates") pour valider cette action. En effet, pour éviter de supprimer par erreur votre travail, les fichiers existants ne sont pas modifiés. Il faut alors forcer l'écrasement. 

Thème d'e-mail

Cette section vous permet d'accéder à tous les modèles d'e-mails existants. Par défaut, les deux thèmes natifs "Classic" et "Modern" sont disponibles. Il suffit de cliquer sur l'icône loupe pour accéder à la liste des e-mails que comporte chaque thème. Une fois sur la page qui regroupe les différents e-mails et les liste par ordre alphabétique, plusieurs actions peuvent être effectuées depuis le menu à droite de chaque ligne : 

• La vue HTTP. Permet de visualiser l'e-mail tel qu'il sera envoyé, dans la mise en forme choisie.
• La vue HTML. Permet d'accéder au code HTML de l'e-mail tel qu'il sera envoyé.
• La vue texte. Permet d'accéder au texte brut de l'e-mail.
• Envoyer un e-mail de test. Utile pour vérifier que la mise en page est bien conforme à vos attentes.

If you need to replace emails from your current theme, you should first select the theme you want to overwrite and then activate the following option ("Overwrite templates") to confirm this action. Indeed, to prevent from deleting your work by error, existing files cannot be modified. It means that you will have to force the overwrite to perform your action.

Email themes

Here, you can find all existing email themes. By default, you already have the two native themes "Classic" and "Modern". Click on the icon to access the full emails list each theme contains. Once on the page, several actions can be performed:

• HTTP. Allows you to preview your email as it will be sent, in the selected layout.
• Raw HTML. Allows you to preview the HTML code of the email as it will be sent.
• Text. Allows you to access its text format.
• Send a test email. Useful to check if the layout is the one you want.
